The Obama Experiment

Another story from Fox that, while true and dead on target, will be marginalized by those who prefer to avoid the truth than deal with it. Before you read it...my thoughts:

Obama doesn't have a clue.

He's not a leader with any experience managing a budget or policies, security, or international affairs. He's a media phenomena much like the Kardashians, Paris Hilton and "The Jersey Shore". Right time, right place and enough media spin to get traction.

Each week that goes by, the smoke dissipates and the mirrors reveal a leader who is an empty suit.

I was excited about the prospect of an Obama Presidency. I wrote about it shortly after the inauguration. But my hopes have been squashed by facts that are so obvious only the dimmest of thinkers could dodge the reality that Obama was a great candidate for an office he is remarkably unqualified to hold.

Obama Botches Response to Another Terror Threat
By Andrea Tantaros

Last Friday's attempted attack to blow up an airplane en route to Detroit from Amsterdam has bolstered what we've known for a long time: that stopping the bad guys is so far outside the worldview of the president and his staff it's downright scary.

In the hours that followed the attack, Obama foolishly called the attempt an "isolated incident."

That's like Tiger Woods calling Rachel Uchitel an isolated incident.

We now know that the suspect had been in Yemen just days before the attack and that a regional Al Qaeda group has claimed responsibility for it.

Obama appointee Janet Napolitano, the Homeland Security chief, who earlier in the year referred to terrorist attacks as "man-caused disaster" and said that we weren't in a War on Terror, praised the system saying, "It worked."

No, it didn't.

She quickly and bizarrely tried to back-peddle the next day insisting that the events following the failed attack unfolded as they should have, but allowing the terrorist to board the plane with explosives clearly "signaled a failure of the system."

Someone should tell Napolitano that her method for measuring success is very strange.

Rep. Peter Hoekstra said it best: "Success is stopping these attacks, not responding to them."

However, rather than demand answers, Congressional Democrats are on defense while they lambaste Republicans for blocking an Obama's pick to head the Transportation Security Administration.

Forget playing politics about the head baggage screener who wouldn't have stopped the attack if he were in place. We've seen what has happened when the baggage of the Obama administration isn't adequately screened.

Most recently the foreign minister of Yemen said that there are likely 200 to 300 terrorists in Yemen plotting future attacks. Why aren't we water-boarding the Christmas Day bomber for information on who these men are? Guess we're more worried about getting him legal representation.

While our president attempts to appease those who have declared a radical jihad on U.S. and elsewhere, let the Christmas Day attack be a sign that the strategy of talking nicely isn't working.

What will it take for the Obama administration and Congressional Democrats to get tough on terror before more people die?

People are going to get killed if we don't change this pre-9/11 mentality. This isn't about politics, it's about reality -- cold one that people want to destroy us. Let this be another wake up call to the president before the only man caused disaster we're talking about is his own naivete

  1. You do know the entirety of the system was set up by the last innane president and that a few incidents like these occured under Bush (e.g. Shoe Bomber) and Obama can't get anything done because Republicans aren't working with this government because they can't stand being bossed around by a young black man whose not had to eat crow every day for eight years for saying "Oh yeah, Bush is a great candidate!" Nothings getting done because Republicans are opposing Obama no matter what. Even if Obama suggested giving Toby Keith the position of Secretary of Defense and he could be paid in beer the Republicans would still find something wrong with that while they feverishly obsess about the prospect. Fact is Obama, his administration and most dems are doing their jobs. But unfortunately it's a 2 party system (for now) and if the GOP wants to keep their positions, their gonna have to make an effort.

  2. Patrick, that's bullsh*t. Republicans are disaagreeing with Obama because he's black? Bring me more conspiracy theory, PLEASE.

you are an idiot...if this had happened in January, February maybe March then I would agree. HOWEVER, this happened a year into his presidency...at what point does the happenings in this country get attributed to THIS president and not the last?

Blaming Bush is the worst move...because it essentially says you have done nothing to change what you are calling a bad system. Also, let's not forget that since the shoe bomber no even almost's have taken place...there were preventions not accidents.

As for blaming Republicans...well this proves your shoe size IQ...in the House the democrats hold an 82 seat majority in the Senate 60-40...the republicans are the minority party and hold no swing on anything. Obama owns the white house...it is not the job of the minority party to work with the president of an opposing party any more than you would have called on Reid to work with Bush. The Democrats have HUGE majorities...blaming the minority party is a childish and stupid game to try and pin your troubles on someone else.

Barack H. Obama, President of the United States, owns this terrorism problem and the Democrats of Congress own theirs. The bottom line is they have been so fixated on unconstitutionally owning parts of private business, bailing out bankrupt bad businesses, throwing trillions at problems and taking over health care that they have forgot the major lines of their oaths...TO PROTECT THIS COUNTRY FROM ALL ENEMIES FOREIGN AND DOMESTIC....not battling doctors and setting the pay for executives.

  4. Filibuster proof majority is a very interesting term when it comes to trying to blame Republicans for Obama's failures. I think the more pressing issue isn't that there was a near miss, but rather the reaction from Obama and his administration when this occurred. It's impossible to keep us completely safe. The fact we haven't had any major terrorist attacks since 9/11 is more luck than anything else. Sure, our flights are safer now, but how good is the security in our shopping malls or public schools? For this reason, it's less important on us getting "lucky" enough to catch them before they do it, and more important on how the President acts when one of the attempt inevitably slips through. In that account, the actions of this President and his administration have been very depressing. The color of his skin has no effect on that.

  5. I agree with Eric, Obama is a waste of space. McCain should have won, its shame he lost to such a loser.

  6. Honestly,. people see what obama has delivered, or lack there of..And I belive that honestly, people are afraid to put blame where it is due because they are afraid of being labeled as racist or opposed to "Change."

What do you expect when the only reason you vote in a canidate for the sole purpose of "Smoothing out the wrinkles of history.."

Like anyone today is responsible for slavery?? God, this is the "Leader" or figurehead as I call it a figurehead, shouldn't he be more of an improvement over the last one? Why use such an important choice to say "I'm sorry for something I didn't do and that obama didn't "Pay your bills and rent, mama"

This country will be better when three things happen:

People smarten up and start changing the country ourselves, the ONLY way change will happen since as Eric knows: Only the audience knows what it wants and needs

Second, We need to lift any and all bans on technology and research that religion opposes..If their faith is strong, nothing the nonbelievers do will affect them..

And last, Hogan for president! Just kidding, but honestly, look at Minnesota. Get someone aggressive in office..It worked for them!

Flame with all your might..It..Means, Well, Sh**!!
